You strangled him, threw him to the ground and left him there crying - even though Loki is the only reason Galactus left in relative peace - and you seriously think that such an apology would befit the situation?
And people get confused when i say i still hate Thor
Totally agree, fuck you Thor! you don’t deserve the brother that you have!, and most of all you don’t have the right to complain and bitching later about “why is Loki a ‘bad guy’”
wOW, OKAY GUYS NOPE. don’t hate on Thor. seriously, just don’t do it. these panels are taken a bit out of context, unfortunately. basically, Galactus comes down to Midgard - since Asgard is now in Oklahoma. long story - and he’s hungry. As you know, he eats planets. Like, entire planets. The Silver Surfer comes to warn Odin. The reason Galactus is coming to the ruins of Asgard is because quite recently, Thor went to the roots of the World Tree and pulled up a seed - or rather, egg. It has immense power, and is basically the thing that’s used to grow another world tree. Galactus wants to eat it because if he did, his hunger would be sated. Forever. That has both good and bad consequences. Good, because trillions of lives would be saved, as Galactus would never consume a planet ever again. This could lead to new technology, forms of magic, etc. Bad, because if the seed is eaten, then no new World Tree can ever be grown. If anything were to happen, that would be it.
So, Galactus comes down and is all like “plz give me ur seed” (sounds dirty, omfg) and the Aesir are like “no plz fuck off”
Of course, Loki, being the sneaky little trickster he is, has a plan.
He sneaks into Sif’s room, cuts off a lock of her hair. (Does get caught and confronted by a naked Sif, mind you. But he escapes.)
He takes the hair to the Norns, who give him three items, which they tell him will aid in saving Thor’s life. Loki takes them - gloves and thread and something else. I forget - and starts to put this plan in motion. First, he goes to the Destroyer and pulls the seed from its chest. Then, to the entrance to the roots of the World Tree. He lowers himself in, and puts the seed back where it originally came from.
So, back up on the surface, Galactus and the Surfer suddenly get confused. They can’t detect the seed’s power anymore. Neither can Odin. They’re all wondering wtf is going on.
Thor then goes to Loki. And he’s pissed off. I’m not sure why; perhaps because Loki returned the seed when Thor almost died in the process of retrieving it. Perhaps because Loki did all of this without telling them. But probably because, at this point, the consequences of Loki’s actions were unclear. (I think this happened before Galactus left.)
So he picks up Loki by the neck, throwing insults, despite Sif trying to calm him down and stop him. Loki manages to choke out that he did it to stop anyone getting hurt. Thor throws Loki down, and storms off, leaving the little boy there, crying. Which, of course, is rather heartbreaking, especially since Loki calls out after him saying stuff like “you’re just like the others!” (meaning that the others all still hate and fear him despite being born anew in the form of a child.)
Galactus decides to leave, for he has no more purpose to stay on Midgard if the seed is gone. The Silver Surfer finds out that the seed was returned to its original place, and offers to stay as its guard, so that none may disturb it. Galactus agrees, turns him into a mortal, and a little man by the name of Mike takes his place as the herald of the destroyer.. (Longish story, not too important right now.)
Thor is calmed down by this point. Because relative peace has returned. He starts to head back inside with Sif, and finds Loki sitting there. Thor does apologise, saying his anger got the better of him. Then, these panels appear. Now, Thor was a bit in the wrong here for not being kinder about it; he was incorrect for not really apologising. He ought to have been grovelling at Loki’s feet; the little boy did more than Thor ever could at that time, and in doing so, saved everyone.
But Thor offers an apology, none the less. And Loki gets excited, thinking that perhaps Thor now trusts him. Which is a big thing for a Trickster god - especially now, even in the form of a child, for all of the Aesir still hate him for what he did. (Since, technically, it was his fault that Asgard was destroyed in the first place.)
And of course, Thor says he doesn’t trust him. And I think, rightly so. It is not long after Loki’s reincarnation at this point. Nobody is sure of whether the old personality still remains at all; nobody is sure whether this child has the destructive potential that the old version of him did. At this point, Loki hasn’t confronted his past self at all - which means he has not denied to continue in the plans of previous!Loki, and certainly, kid!Loki has not sealed his older self in the form of a Magpie yet. So, Thor has every right not to /trust/ Loki, but he still loves him.
I think, what you may forget is that Thor has lived his whole life beside a boy who grew into a monster. The Loki he knows so well is the old version. He knows the horrors that the previous incarnation has caused, knows of the crimes he committed.
Don’t you think that Thor remembers those, when he looks upon this child? I would.
Because, it’s Loki. That little kid is Loki. The self-proclaimed lord of chaos, the trickster god, the man who brought about the destruction of Asgard, the man who stole Sif’s body and watched her die, the man who made Thor’s life a living hell, who plotted to /kill/ Thor so often.
And yes, the child form of him is different, doesn’t harbour all of that hate and rage. (Perhaps, not yet.) But Thor doesn’t know that, and he can’t just forget everything that Loki has done in the past. Everytime Thor looks upon that child, he’s going to feel hurt and betrayal and anger, just like he did with the previous incarnation.
Thor tries to fight that, strives to remember that these two Loki’s are different. And he manages it, more often than not. But if Thor is angry, if Loki does something reckless, if Loki pisses him off, Thor can’t control his memory. He thinks of everything that Loki has done - has the potential to do - and he flips his lid because wOW here’s this little kid who acts so innocent, and yet his previous self was murderous and hateful and cruel. Thor can’t understand that, perhaps, because he’s so used to the ‘evil’ version. He grew up with that version of Loki, and its hard for him now to realise that perhaps Loki has changed, perhaps he’s not all that he was.
Don’t you fucking dare hate on Thor. He was crying when Loki died, despite all the anger and pain the trickster god had caused. Thor was rather emotionally torn up; specifically about losing his brother. He’d have felt anger if Loki had survived. Anger that Asgard lay in ruins. But not really hurt; things could be rebuilt.
But Loki dies, and all he can feel is hurt. He weeps for his brother, truly. To see Loki torn apart in front of his eyes, it broke him. It broke Thor.
Thor, the Mighty Thunderer. Thor, the strongest Aesir known.
Completely shattered by the loss of his brother.
Thor goes looking, then, for any possible way to bring Loki back. But, accidentally, he stumbles upon a little street hustler in Paris, named Serrure. And it’s Loki. Thor knows it’s him. Serrure runs from Thor, thinking that it’s a man that had been cheated out of his money who wants it back. Thor catches up, goes into his normal godly form. Serrure doesn’t know who he really is. So, Thor restores his memory.
And then it’s Loki, right there in front of him. His annoying little brother. Alive and well.
And then they’re both grinning, and they start to run, chasing each other, while Loki jests and makes fun of Thor for being so ‘old’ and Thor just laughs.
When they go back to Oklahoma, back to Asgard, people are shocked and angry that Loki has been brought back; that despite everything that happened, Thor missed his baby brother. Even Tony Stark is like “wtf have u done Thor u crazy mothefucker,” and Thor simply tells him, rather threateningly, that Loki has been brought back, and that is all there is to say on the matter.
And gosh, the insults that Odin throws at the trickster. It’s sickening. You can tell how much Odin hates Loki. But Thor defends him, and holds Loki close.
Oh, and also, Loki going crazy in the movie!verse? NOT THOR’S FAULT. Not Odin’s fault either. They made some dumb decisions, said some stupid things, but it wasn’t the fault of either of them. In the comic!verse, it wasn’t specifically either one of them, moreso perhaps, the entire Aesir population.
To recap: Thor is the only reason Loki is alive. Thor is the only person who actually loves Loki. Thor is the one who keeps Loki safe when the others challenge him. Thor had every right to be angry at Loki, even if he went about it the wrong way. Thor is allowed to not trust Loki, and nobody really should at that point. Thor was upset by losing pretty much everything else, but the thing that really broke him, the thing that really hurt him, was losing Loki. Thor can forgive Loki for all that he’s done, even though most of it is pretty serious stuff. Thor is not responsible for Loki going crazy. Thor is the only one who believes good can come of the Trickster.
Don’t you EVER hate on Thor again. He makes bad decisions, so does Loki. Hell, you should hate Loki more than Thor, if we’re gonna go by who’s the cruelest and makes the worst choices.
Thor has always been the one to love Loki, even if Loki makes horrible choices; hell, Thor even loves his baby brother despite all of the times Loki tried to kill him.
You have no reasoning for hating on Thor, and you deserve a punch in the face if you can still hate him despite being told multiple reasons why he is pretty much 100% loveable.
plz don’t u dare dislike any character because of how they treat Loki. Unless you’ve forgotten, Loki is murderous, psychotic and hateful. At times, he definitely deserves to be treated badly. If you must hate a character, hate them for their personality or who they are as an individual. Don’t hate on them just because they’re mean to a character you love. By saying you hate Thor for how he treats Loki, you’re admitting to not knowing the basics of either character. Loki more often than not deserves what he gets, and Thor, more often than not, despite what it may seem, still loves Loki completely.
plz stop with the pointless character hate, especially if u have no reasoning behind it ):

Okay I know her post is long, but all of that needs to be read, or at least just the recap. I also bolded some of my favorite parts. But anyway, yeah if some of you guys cannot take a second to even see things from anyone else’s point of view then you need to just stop making stupid comments altogether and maybe do a little research before showing your ass okay.
And it is Thor and ONLY Thor who even wants and makes an attempt to find Loki and bring him back. Everyone was trying to talk him out of it. Everyone. Because if you did you would know that they are, literally, the best of bros.
So seriously, fuck you for hating on Thor, because Thor put up with a lot, A LOT of Loki’s shit. More than he needed to. All of his murderous plots and cruel schemes. All of his hatred and anguish that truly is misplaced. So I think if you all were in Thor’s shoes you’d fucking flip your lid too, okay, so shut the fuck up I am so sick of it.
